TRANCE MACABRE

Trance Macabre is a rotating jazz ensemble of musicians from Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts. Inspired by the poetry and compositions of Cecil Taylor, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, and Sun Ra, this band aspires to make collective improvisation so interesting that audiences forget genre entirely. This summer the band released their debut LP with Redscroll Records. The album is a suite of four frenetic yet heartwarming original songs inspired by bandleader Nicholas Serrambana’s childhood trauma, bachelor’s degree from Yale, and the black radical tradition.
